After the imposition of colonial rule in Africa the European established the colonial economy so as to serve their mother countries

Tactics used to establish colonial economy

In order to make sure that the establishment of colonial Economy to be useful, different tactics were employed like Creation, Preservation and Destruction

Creation

The colonialist alot of things that were not available before like
Introduction of cash crops
Introduction of taxation
Introduction of money economy

Preservation

There are few things were preserved by the colonialist like family labourwas accepted by the colonialists

Destruction

The colonialists tended to destruct the African economy like owning major means of production as well as the local industries were destructed so as to avoid competition in the market
